Hi, I'm Seb.

I started Dropped Pin in September 2026 after spending a month inside the Google profiles of Auckland dentists, physios, painters, electricians and locksmiths.

The pattern was the same everywhere: good businesses with years of happy customers, and a Google profile that hadn't been touched since someone set it up. Nine reviews. No replies. A competitor down the road with two hundred.

Nobody was doing anything wrong. They were busy doing the actual work. But Google doesn't know that, and neither does the person searching at 8pm for a plumber, or comparing three dental practices before booking.

Where I come from

I've got a health-sciences background and I'm currently studying chiropractic here in Auckland, so I know what a clinic looks like from the inside: how patients actually decide, and why a practice owner is rightly cautious about anything that touches patient communication. I also run my own small tutoring business, which taught me most of what matters here: answer the phone, do what you said, and don't hide the price.

How I work

One business at a time, in writing, with dates. Every engagement starts with a free check of your real profile, because I'd rather show you what I found than tell you what I can do. If there isn't much to gain, I'll say so. I've turned down businesses that were already doing this well.

What I won't do

Buy reviews, filter reviews, ask only the happy customers, offer discounts for stars, or promise you a ranking. Google rewrote its review rules this year, and the Commerce Commission is actively fining businesses for exactly those things. A clean review system isn't a nice-to-have. It's the whole point.

What I'm building

A small, honest local-growth business, not an agency with a sales team. When there's more work than I can do well, I'll bring in help for the routine parts and tell you who's doing what. The audit, the review system and your reports stay with me.
